The RIPP thermostat enhances your engine's cooling efficiency by opening at a lower temperature—180°F compared to the stock thermostat's 210°F. This means coolant flows sooner, helping to maintain lower engine temperatures. It's the perfect upgrade for vehicles with upgraded radiators and fans. 

Here’s the secret: The RIPP thermostat features a longer piston, giving it an impressive 12mm valve lift compared to the typical 7mm in factory thermostats. This extra lift increases coolant flow and maximizes cooling performance, making it your secret weapon against heat!

Pro Tips:

Engine Cooling Service: We recommend replacing the thermostat, flushing, and refilling the cooling system every 45,000 miles or every 4 years. This helps remove any accumulated debris, contaminants, and old coolant, ensuring the proper functioning of the cooling system. Along with your coolant system service, check coolant expansion tanks, hoses, and fittings. 

Tuning: Installing the RIPP low-temperature thermostat is a very effective way to lower engine temperatures. Although tuning is unnecessary, with the lower-temperature thermostat installed, you can use the cooler engine conditions to fine-tune fuel and timing parameters. This can result in increased horsepower and torque and avoid any dash lights when operating in a very cold environment. (i.e., installing a temp thermostat in a cold environment could trigger a warning light indicating a slow warm-up time)

Coolant Mixture: The coolant-to-water mixture in an engine's cooling system regulates the engine's operating temperature. The mixture typically consists of coolant and water. The standard recommended mixture is 50:50 mix. However, in race applications or hot environments, it is common to adjust the ratio as deemed necessary. A higher water content enhances the thermal conductivity of the mixture, improving its ability to transfer heat away from the engine components. This can benefit a race application where the engine is subjected to high loads and temperatures. Always consult a professional, as every vehicle will have its own variables.
